1. What Are Cookies

Cookies are small text files stored on your device by your web browser when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work properly, remember your preferences, and provide a better user experience.

We also use similar technologies such as local storage (browser storage) for limited purposes described below.

2. Essential Cookies

These cookies are strictly necessary for the Service to function and cannot be disabled. They do not require consent under applicable privacy laws.

  • Authentication cookie (sb-*-auth-token): Managed by Supabase, this cookie stores your encrypted session token to keep you logged in securely. It is set when you log in and removed when you log out.
  • TV device session (tv_secret): Stores the device session identifier when a TV is connected to a family account via QR code. Duration: 1 year.
  • Phone device session (phone_secret): Stores the device session identifier when a phone is connected to a child's profile via QR code. Duration: 1 year.

3. Functional Cookies

These cookies enhance the Service by remembering your preferences. While not strictly necessary for the Service to function, they provide a better experience.

  • Language preference (NEXT_LOCALE): Stores your selected language (English, Portuguese, or Spanish) so the Service displays in the correct language across visits. Duration: 1 year.

4. Local Storage

We use browser local storage for the following purpose:

  • Remembered email (kipup_remembered_email): When you check "Remember me" on the login page, your email address is saved locally on your device to pre-fill the login form on your next visit. This data is stored only on your device and never sent to our servers. You can clear it by unchecking "Remember me" or clearing your browser data.

5. Third-Party Cookies

We do not use any third-party cookies. We do not use analytics, advertising, or tracking services of any kind. No data about your browsing behavior is shared with third parties through cookies.

6. Managing Cookies

You can manage or delete cookies through your browser settings. Please note that disabling essential cookies may prevent the Service from functioning properly.

Common browser settings for managing cookies:

  • Chrome: Settings > Privacy and Security > Cookies
  • Firefox: Settings > Privacy & Security > Cookies
  • Safari: Preferences > Privacy > Cookies
  • Edge: Settings > Privacy > Cookies

To clear local storage data, use your browser's developer tools or clear browsing data settings.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy to reflect changes in our use of cookies. When we make significant changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
